BONNIE! A TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SONG CONTEST!

Saturday 18th May .  6pm – 1am

The George & Dragon, 2 Hackney Road, E2 2NU

--------------------------------------------------------------

This year a certain Ms Bonnie Tyler will sing her heart out for the UK at the Eurovision song contest, with her trademark gravelly voice, huge blonde mane and penchant for pixie boots, stone wash denim and boxy leather blousons it is sure to be a real “moment”.

The George& Dragon at 2 Hackney Road, Shoreditch is planning to mark this potentially triumphant occasion with a tongue in cheek party which will encapsulate all that is great (and not so great) about the Eurovision Song Contest:  BONNIE! A TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SONG CONTEST.

There will be a live screening of the final, with the genius addition of live commentary provided by Princess Julia (GQ Style/iD/QX) and assortment of local luminaries dropping into her commentary box throughout the evening’s festivities!

There will be trashy Eurovision prizes to be won all night (provided by the event’s “corporate sponsor” MAIDENSHOP.COM). Think mugs, tea towels and perhaps a Bonnie Tyler LP.

In case the show starts to get a bit saggy we also have our wonderful DJs Victor & Thelma on hand to play Eurovision hits of yore throughout the night.

A special assortment of Eurovision cocktails with truly imaginative names will also be on sale at the bar on the night: BUCKS FIZZ, BONNIE MARYS, MALMORITAS

And as if that wasn’t enough the event is entirely free!

Landlord of George & Dragon (and Bucks Fizz superfan) Richard Battye said "What really excites me about this year’s contest is that the last time we had a husky voiced over the hill chanteuse flying the flag we actually won!!"

Hostess for the evening Princess Julia said 'You might say there's something trashy about Eurovision and that's exactly why we love it'.
